大宮峠、地蔵峠

冬が戻ってきたみたい。雨が降ったりやんだり、風が強い、９℃です。ゴールデンウイークの一人旅のために体力をウップしたいです。今日のコースは二つの峠を越えるコースです。上宮津→大宮峠→野田川、石川→地蔵峠→宮津、滝場

It's as if winter has returned. Raining on and off, windy and 9℃. I want to increase my stamina for Golden Week solo trip. Today's course goes over to mountain passes. Kamimiyazu→Omiya Pass→Ishikawa, Nodagawa→Jizo Pass→Takiba, Miyazu.

今週末は上宮津祭りです。皆さんが今朝３時か４時に起きたと思う。今日の天気の中は大変だったでしょう。ご苦労さんです。

Today is Kamimiyazu festival. These cool looking flags are put up all over the place at festival time in Japan. I think everyone had to get up around 3 or 4 a.m. today. Wouldn't be very nice in today's weather.

長いヒルクライムです。大江山スキー場までの道路より級です。It's a long hill climb. Steeper than the road to Mt. Ooe Ski Field.

通ってきた道を見下ろす。Looking down on the way I came.

何もないところ、山の中にこの墓地がありました。誰かが先祖を大事にしています。感心しました。This cemetery was in the mountains where there was nothing else. Somebody is looking after their ancestors with care.　I'm impressed.

Don't pollute it with garbage

山の中にあった。Signs in the middle of the mountain.

山の中でごみを捨てる人は最低な人間です。People who dispose of garbage in the middle of the mountain are low.

Hi mum!!!

本当に何もないところです。何でこの新しそう神社がここにあるでしょうか。There's nothing here. I wonder why this newish looking shrine is here.

先週通った杉山林道がはっきり見える。Can clearly see Sugiyama Forest Road which we went on last week.

この峠の名前が初めて知ってた。びっくりした。何で大宮峠と名づけられたでしょうか。だって、大宮町との境ではない。ここから野田川にある谷ともう一つ峠「水戸谷峠」を渡って大宮町がある。Wonder why this is called Omiya Pass. It isn't the border with Omiya. To get to Omiya you have to cross the valley with Nodagawa in it and go over another pass (Mitodani Pass).
