崇山森林公園(前編） Mt. Arata Forest Park (Part 1)

先日、崇山森林公園まで来ましたがしんどくて、ちゃんと探検できませんでした。その話はここです。今回しっかり探検したいと思います。MTBにとって、いいトレイルを発見したいです。また、素晴らしい天気です。さあ、今回、何があるでしょうか。
The other day I came here to Mt. Arata Forest Park, but I was too tired to explore the area properly. That story is here. This time I will explore the place properly. I'd love to find a good MTB trail. Once again, the weather is awesome. So, I wonder what I'll come across today.

広い駐車場があります There is a large parking area

右の道は公園に行きます。まずは、左の道を探検します。 The road to the right goes to the park. But first, I will explore the left road.

いい感じです Looks good

しかし、ここで行き止まりです。戻ります。 However, it comes to an end here. So I return.

車が禁止されています Cars are prohibited

新緑と桜が綺麗です The tones of the new leaves and the cherry blossoms are beautiful

小さな白い花 Small white flowers

その花の木の葉っぱ The leaves on the tree of those flowers

小さな紫の花と小さな植物 。この写真をゆっくり見ると面白いです。Tiny purple flowers & tiny plants. It's interesting taking your time to look at this photo.

道の60％ぐらいがオフロードです About 60% of the road is offroad

道の40％ぐらいが舗装道路です About 40% of the road is paved

オ～！キツツキのドラミングが聞こえます。珍しいです。私にとっては3回目だと思います。九州の別府と上世屋のブナ林で聞いたことがあります。下の動画をユーチューブから取りました。このアオゲラという種類だったかどうかわかりませんが、このドラミングの音とそっくりでした。
Oh! I can hear a woodpecker pecking. That's rare. I've only ever heard one 2 other times. Once at Beppu, Kyushu and once at Kami-Seya's beech forest. I found the video below on YouTube. I'm not sure if it's the same kind of woodpecker that I heard, but the pecking sound is the same.

新葉っぱの形が面白いです。The shape of the new leaves is interesting.

葉っぱが枝の先から出ています。 The leaves are growing out the tips of the branches.

春には森林の色合いが綺麗です。特に新緑の色がいいです。竹の色が茶色っぽいです。

The different shades of color of the forest in spring is beautiful. The color of the new leaves are especially nice. The bamboo is a brownish color.

めちゃ綺麗ですね Aren't they beautiful!

上ってきた道にあった木です This tree was on the road I came up on

あの木の１つの花です。しかし、ピンクではなくって、白っぽいです。 This is a flower on that tree. However, rather than looking pink it looks whitish.

15年前のお盆には家に帰る途中、山に大文字を見ました。その時にびっくりして、どうやってしたかなと思いました。絶対ここでした。この斜面にポールがあって、ちょうどその下に見える道路を走っていました。まだ大文字をやっているかどうかわかりません。用意をするのが大変でしょう。ひもがなかったら落ちてしまいます。
At Obon, 15 years ago, on my way home I saw a big 'daimonji' (a big Chinese character in the shape of 大 glowing at night). I was surprised at that time and wondered how they had got up into the mountains to do it. It was definitely here. You can see the poles on the slope for it and also the road you can see below is exactly where I was. I don't know if they still set it up, but it looks like a hard job. You'd fall down to the bottom without a rope.

どういう意味でしょうか。字がわかりますが、意味が分かりません。検索したとき、色んな地方に同じものをいくつか見つけましたが、そのブログを書いた日本人も意味不明でした。もしかして、宝くじの助成を受けたという意味でしょうか。

もうそろそろ田植えの時期ですね It's nearly rice planting season

展望台ですが、私は入る勇気がないです。怖い！！！木が腐っているかも知れません。 The lookout. I wasn't brave enough to enter it. It's too scary！！！ The wood might be rotting.

この丸い石がテーブルとしていいです。でかくて、汚れっていません。 This round boulder is good as a table. It's big and nice & clean.

さあ！尾根に上る前にここの「展望広場」のすぐ下にある「牛取岩」とその近くにある「アジサイの谷」を探検します。歩いていきます。 Right！ Before heading up to the ridge, I'm going to explore 'Ushitori-iwa' rock just below here ( the lookout area) and 'Azalea Valley' which isn't too far from there. I'm going on foot.

この道をMTBで走られる。楽しそう！ You could ride a MTB down here. Looks like fun！

ただの巨岩です It's just a giant rock

'Ushitori-iwa' literally means 'take cow rock'

しかし、岩に生えっている苔がすごいです。手振りが気持ちいい！牛の毛のようです。 But the moss growing on the rock is amazing. It feels really nice. It's like a cowhide.

橋が腐っています。怖い！別の場所で沢を渡ります。

The bridge is rotten. It's scary！ I'll cross the stream somewhere else.

綺麗！トレイルがこの満開の木々を通ります。Beautiful！ The trail goes through these trees in full bloom.

右は森林浴のトレイルです。尾根までに行くトレイルです。私はアジサイ谷まで左に行きます。 The right path is the 'Shinrin-yoku' (lit. forest bath) trail. It goes up to the ridge. I will go left to the Azalea Valley.

アジサイ谷です。アジサイが見えませんよ。 This is Azalea Valley. But I can't see any Azaleas

まだアジサイがあると期待していました I was expecting there to still be azaleas here

ちょっと上流に行きましたが、アジサイが全然見えませんでした。椿がありましたが。 I went up stream, but couldn't see any azaleas at all. There were camellias though.

手振りが柔らくて、いいです It feels really nice too

新緑がいいです The new leaves are nice
