3つの「初めて」があったライド

由良ヶ岳　Mt. Yura-ga-dake

MTBをしながら、写真を撮るのが私の趣味です。しかし、最近私のカメラの調子がちょっと悪くなりました。ということで、新しいカメラを購入しました。今回、カメラ遊びのために由良ヶ岳に行きました。本当に素晴らしいところです。大満足でした。
My hobby is taking photos while mountain biking. However, recently my camera has been playing up. Therefore, I bought a new camera. Now all I needed was a place to go and play with my new toy. I chose Mt. Yura-ga-dake, which is truly a fantastic place.

「3つの初めて」の一つ目はカケスのいい写真が初めて撮れました。 One of the 3 things I did for the very first time today was get a good photo of a jay.

カケスは他の鳥の声や機械的な音の物まねがうまいです。
​Jays are really good at mimicking other bird songs and mechanical noises.

ミツマタの花。和紙がこの植物から作られています。　Flower of the oriental paper bush. This plant is used to make Japanese washi paper.

いい香り。甘くておいしい匂いです。 It has a really nice fragrance. A sweet and delicious smell.

今回の謎　Today's Puzzle

この黄色だらけものはなんでしょうか。 What is this long thing covered in yellow stuff.

はい！ビロウドツリアブの吻でした。これでミツマタの花蜜を吸蜜していました。飛んでいるとき、かなり醜いものでした。 Yes! It is the proboscis or a bee-fly. It was using it to drink the nectar from the oriental paper bush flowers. It was rather an ugly looking thing when in flight.

林道を上っている途中、私の方に飛んできている騒いでいるカラスが2羽聞こえました。ガアガア！私は何でだろうと思いました。最初にたぶんこんな話だったかなと思いました。
カラス１：「誰かがおるよ。獲物を持っているかもしれない。見に行こう！」
カラス２：「はい、来てるぞ！」
しかし、私に近くの尾根にある木に降り立ちました。同じ木にトンビがいました。トンビがすぐに逃げましたが、カラスが追いかけ、空中戦を仕掛けました。
As I was going up the mountain road, I became aware of two crows making a huge racket as they flew towards me. CAW CAW! I wondered why. At first, I thought they were having a conversation something like along these lines.
Crow 1: "There's someone over there. He might have something we can eat. Let's go have a look."
Crow 2: "I'm coming"
But, they landed in a tree on the ridge above me. In the same tree there was a 'black kite" It quickly fled, but the crows chased it and launched a mid-air attack on it.

そのトンビ。（これはトンビでしょうか。なんか違う気がします。） That 'black kite'. (I'm guessing it is a 'black kite'. It looks a little different though.)

太陽の周りに虹色の輪が見えます。この現象は「ハロ」と「日傘」とも言うそうです。

There is a rainbow colored ring around the sun. This phenomenon is called a halo. It is also called 'higasa' (lit. parasol) in Japanese

由良川の向こうに大浦半島があって、その向こうに白山が見えます。Beyond the Yura River is Oura Peninsula, and beyond that I can see Mt. Hakusan

白山が見えますか。「３つの初めて」の2つ目は由良ヶ岳から白山を初めて見ました。 Can you see Mt. Hakusan? The second thing I did for the very first time was see Mt. Hakusan from Mt. Yura-ga-dake.

白山は標高2,702mで、岐阜県と福井県の堺にあります。由良ヶ岳から白山まで直線150㎞です。 Mt. Hakusan is 2,702 meters high and is on the border of Gifu and Fukui prefectures. It is 150 km in a straight line from Mt. Yura-ga-dake

「3つの初めて」の3つ目はウソの鳥と初めて見ました。メスとオスがいて、芽を食べていました。オスの喉が綺麗な赤色でした。 The 3rd thing that I did for the very first time today was see a Eurasian bullfinch. A male and female were eating buds. The male's neck was a beautiful reddish color.

栗田半島と丹後半島が見えます。 You can see Kunda Peninsula and Tango Peninsula.

ということで、充実したライドでした。
カメラにまだなれていませんが、いい写真が撮れました。
由良ヶ岳が素晴らしい山です。
また行きます。
To wrap things up, It was a very fulfilling ride.
My camera took good photos.
Mt. Yura-ga-dake is a fantastic place.
I'll visit again.
