神秘的な場所を発見

カッパとアオラキのアドベンチャー Kappa Aoraki Adventure

私たちは二人ともある所にトレイルがあると聞いたことがあります。今回、そのトレイルを探しに行きます。
Both of us had heard of a trail in a place that shall remain secret. Today, we went in search of this trail.

リフレクションズ　Reflections

渓谷のようなところで川沿いを上っていきます。きついですが、気持ちがいいところです。 We climb up along the river in what seems to be a ravine. It's quite steep, but a really nice place.

石楠花(シャクナゲ)が咲いています。綺麗な色！！！ A Rhododendron is in flower. It's a beautiful color!

目的地に到着しました。今回、MKさんのために懐かしいものを持ってきました。We have reached our destination. Today, I brought a special treatt for MK.

MOROチョコレートバーです。ニュージーランドではスポーツマンの中で人気のあるものです。 It's a MORO chocolate bar. It is popular among sportsmen in NZ.

懐かしいMOROのCMを見つけました。 (1987) I found an old MORO ad

いのしし囲い罠があります。宮津市のウィルダネスにいて、獣が多くいる所です。何が出てくるかな！楽しみ！ A boar enclosure trap. We are in the wilderness (of Miyazu) here. There are lots of wild beasts. I wonder what will come out. I'm happily anticipating something.

さあ！ここからカッパとアオラキのアドベンチャーが始まります。道があるかな。それでもわかりません。 Righty-ho! Another Kappa & Aoraki adventure is about to start. We wonder if there is a trail here. We don't even know that.

この竹林が結構大きいです。面白い分厚いつるがあります。This bamboo grove is quite big. There is an interesting thick vine here.

ねじれたつる Old gnarled vine

オー！綺麗な石灯籠がある！でも竹以外に何も見えません。竹の森の中に道に迷いやすそうですね。Oh! There is a stone lantern here. But apart from bamboo, I can't see anything else. It looks like it would be quite easy to get lost in a bamboo forest.

私は石灯籠が大好きです。何でこれはここにあるでしょう！ I love stone lanterns. I wonder why this one is here.

アッ！向こうに何かが見えますよ。見える？石灯籠の右側の奥........何があると思いますか。当ててみて。 Ah! There is something over there. Can you see it? To the right of the stone lantern in the background. What do you think it is!? Take a guess.

わかりましたか。そう！鳥居です。ここはさらに面白くなりました。神秘的な場所です。奥に何があるかな！ Did you get it right? Yes, it's a torii shinto gate. This place just got even more interesting. It's really is a mystical place. I wonder what lies further in.

何というものでしょうか。何のためでしょうか。 I wonder what this is called and what it is for.

これは手水鉢でしょう。I think this is a chōzubachi, a vessel for washing your hands and rinsing your mouth before entering a sacred place.

祠があります。なんか祠より古墳のように見えます。面白い！（ビデオゲームにあるような場所です。ここでラビリンスに入ってモンスターと戦う。）中を見ましょう。 There's a small shrine. It looks more like an old tomb than a shrine. How interesting! (It looks like the kind of place you find in a video game. Here you would enter a labyrinth to fight monsters.) Let's take a peek inside.

中が暗いだから、中を見るためにフラッシュを使わなければなりません。 It's dark inside, so I have to use my flash to see what's in there.

エッ！これは何でしょうか。仏像かお地蔵さんのようなものです。真白ですよ。面白い！失礼しました！　Hmm! Wonder what this is. It looks like a buddhist stone carving or a Jizo. It's really white. Very interesting! Sorry to have disturbed you!

トレイルを見つけたよ。MKさんはスマートフォンを使って私たちの位置を確認しています。 I found a trail. MK checks his smart phone to see where we are.

きつい！これはカッパとアオラキアドヴェンチャーのパターンです。２歩進んで1歩すべて下がる。しんどい！ It's steep. This is a recurring pattern in our Kappa Aoraki adventures. 2 steps forward and slide back down one step. I'm huffing and puffing!

こういうところまで上ってきました。 We came across this place.

鉄塔が並んでいる。 The pylons are lined up.

しんどい！すべる！ I'm knackered! Keep sliding backwards!

クマの後でしょう。 Looks like bear claw marks.

ちょっと楽になった。 The going has gotten much easier.

上の尾根に出ました。エッ！分岐がある。これは左です。 We come out on the top ridge. Uh oh! There are 2 tracks to choose from. This is the left one.

これは右です。いい感じです。古道っぽいですよね。右は別の時に探検します。私たちは左に行きます。 This is the right path. Looks pretty good. Looks like an ancient road. We'll explore this one another time. This time we decide to go left.

今回のランチスポット Today's lunch spot.

急にすごくいいにおいがします。 Suddenly, there is really delicious smell wafting through the forest.

Aoraki: いじめる！そんなめちゃおいしそうものを作るのが。You're torturing me with that smell.
MK: アオラキの分も持ってきたよ。 I brought some for you too.
Aoraki: あっ！本当！？やった！ありがとう！ Oh! Really!? Cool! Thanks!

めちゃいいにおい！　Smells amazingly good!

クマもごちそうをしに来るかな。 A bear might come for some too.

I didn't take any photos from here. It was a fun trail though. Check out the video. The wild beast at the end was especially funny.

ということで今年の2回目のカッパとアオラキアドベンチャーが無事にできました。
この趣味が楽しい！
車を使わずに何カ所でこういうアドベンチャーができる宮津は最高です。
To wrap things up, Kappa & Aoraki adventure no.2 for the year went off without a hitch.
This is a great hobby.
Miyazu, where you can have this kind of adventure in multiple places without using a car, is AWESOME
