昇龍の滝と本坂道 Shoryu Waterfall & Honzakamichi

今日は久しぶりに、めがねカッパ（以下MK）と探検ライドに出かけました。今回のライドも、気づけば“伝説の探検ライド”の一つになっていました。前と同じく、しっかり疲れたけど、それ以上に楽しかった！
Today, I went on an exploration ride with ​Megane Kappa (aka MK) for the first time in a while. Before we knew it, it had become another one of our “legendary adventure rides.” Just like before, totally exhausting—but even more fun!

MK「もうあの辺の雪はなくなってるはず！」
私（前回の過酷な探検ライドを思い出し、そっと防水ソックスを装着）

MK: Let's go to Shoryu Waterfall
Me: OK! I want to explore a path over that way.
MK: All the snow will be gone by now.
Me: (Remembering our past grueling exploration rides, I put on my waterproof socks)

林道の入口まで、ずっと川沿いを登っていく。せせらぎを聞きながらの道、最高に気持ちいい！We ride all the way up to the trailhead along the river. Riding with the sound of the stream beside us—Very pleasant!

近年は誰もこの道を使っていなさそうで、春じゃないと通りにくいです。でも、今年の大雪のせいで竹が倒れていて、さらに大変なことに…。 It looks like no one has been using this path in recent years. So it's difficult to pass along unless in spring. However, due to the heavy snow this year, the bamboo has fallen across the path and made it extra tough going.

左側の仏像は、おそらく慈悲と慈愛の女神である観音菩薩だと思われます。

右側の仏像は、猛々しい守護神・不動明王のようです。 The statue on the right appears to be Fudō Myoo, the fierce protector.

これは何だと思いますか。 What do you suppose this is?

正解！！！鹿の角でした。That's right！！！ It was a deer antler

ほら、MK…あれは何だ？白いものがいっぱい！雪だよね？まだこんなに残ってるなんて！ Look at that! What's all that white stuff MK? Snow! There's a heap of it left!

雪が深すぎて、軽〜いMKはまるで雪の上を走るエルフ。でも重たい私は膝上までズボッと埋まって、完全に雪山ゴーレム化。The snow’s so deep that light MK looks like an elf running across the top. Meanwhile, heavy me sinks past my knees and turns into a full-on snowfield golem.

疲れました。めちゃくちゃ疲れました！ We’re exhausted. Totally wiped out!

大変だった！ That was hard going!

やっと雪のないところに出た！地面がこんなに恋しくなるとは…。 At last, we made it out of the snow! I never thought I’d miss plain old ground this much…

2014年の秋に来たとき、この感じでした。　It was like this when I came here in the autumn of 2014.

あの長くて雪深い谷を越えて、まさに壮大な戦いの末にここまで辿り着きました。振り返るだけで、あの苦闘がよみがえります。 We crossed that long, snow-covered valley and finally reached here after an epic struggle. Just looking back brings that battle all back to life.

天橋立。今日はかなり霞んでいます。PM2.5のせいで空気の味がイマイチ。全然美味しくない！喉もイガイガして最悪です。 Amanohashidate. It's really hazy today. It's due to the PM 2.5. It doesn't taste good. It doesn't taste good at all. My throat feels yucky.

さあ！いよいよ私が探検したかったトレイルに入ったところです。 Ok then! We've just entered the trail that I wanted to explore.

MKさんがこのトレイルを気に入ったみたい！ MK seems to like this trail!

ずっとだれも使っていないようです。しかし、綺麗にすれば、かなり楽しいトレイルです。 It appears that no one has used this trail in ages. But if it was tidied up, it would be a fun trail.

このトレイルを走りました。残念ながら、もう誰も使っていないようです。 This is the trail we rode. Unfortunately no one seems to be using it any more.

ということで、MKとまた鉄人トレーニングライドをしてきました。（スノーハイクや竹の障害物コースも含めて）楽しい26kmのライドでした。MKとこんな冒険ライドをするのは久しぶりで、とても面白かった！ありがとう！
So, to wrap it up, it turned out to be another iron man training ride. It was an enjoyable 26 km ride, (including the snow hike & bamboo obstacle course). It had been a long long time since MK and I had gone on an adventure like this. Was fun!!! Cheers!
