妙見山　Mt. Myoken

今回、何年ぶりに妙見山に登ることにしました。いつもと同じように上り途中、色々を観察しました。
Today, I went up Mt. Myoken for the first time in some years. As usual, I observed various things on the way up.

林道が竹の葉で覆われている。この季節に山を見れば、竹の葉が茶色です。春に新しい葉が出てきて、古いのは落ちます。今日はこのことを発見しました。The road is covered in bamboo leaves. If you look at the mountains in this season, the bamboo looks brown. In spring, new leaves grow and the old leaves fall. I discovered this fact today.

私は竹のゾーンが大好き！ I love going through bamboo groves.

はい、トンボでした。 Yes, it was a damselfly.

ハンミョウが多かった。顔が恐ろしい！春に体がこの色です。 There were a lot of Japanese tiger beetles today. They have really fierce looking faces. In spring, they are this color.

秋にこの色です。 They are this color in autumn.

気持ちのいい日です。茶色の竹の葉が見えます。 The weather feels wonderful today. You can see brown bamboo leaves over there.

馬酔木（アセビ）の葉。人間に毒です。 Japanese andromeda leaves. They are poisonous to people.

ヒメオビオオキノコムシ

色んなキノコが枯木に生えます。Various kinds of fungus grows on dead trees.

下側を見たとき、甲虫が見えました。 When I look on the underside, I saw some beetles.

ヒメオビオオキノコムシです。枯木にはえるキノコを食べます。 I couldn't find an English name for these, but their scientific name is episcapha fortunei. They eat fungus growing on dead trees.

妙見山の頂上 The Top of Mt. Myoken

天橋立が見えます。しかし、木が高くなりました。背が低い人は天橋立が見えないかも知れません。 You can see Amanohashidate. However, the trees have gotten quite tall. Short people might no longer be able to see Amanohashidate.
