次の日にハイキングをしに行きました。現在、義理の弟は自然保護省のためにニュージーランドの10番目のグレート・ウオークを作る関係の仕事をしています。地元の人たちとのPRの仕事です。このトラックはハイキングとマウンテンバイクのトラックになります。2019年の初めに完成されます。今回、そのトラックの最後の部分を見に行きました。
We went for a hike on the next day. My brother-in-law has a contract with the Department of Conservation (DOC) in connection with the building of New Zealand's 10th Great Walk. This trail will be a dual purpose trail for hiking and mountain biking and will be completed at the beginning of 2019. We went to hike along the last part of the trail.

ライドの後でクリスマス・イブのBBQがありました。そして、その次の日はクリスマの日だったので、食べたり、飲んだり、プレゼントを開封したりして、ゆっくりしました。
After my ride, we had a Christmas Eve BBQ. Then on Christmas day we relaxed, eating, drinking and opening our presents.

次の日にマウンテンバイクで妹の家の近くを探検しました。3年前にウエスト・コースト・ワルダネス・トレイルの一部を走りました。その時の話はこのリンクにあります。最高でした。ぜひご覧になってください。ウエスト・コースト・ワルダネス・トレイルの全長が139㎞だそうです。4日間でゆっくりに走る人もいます。今回私はクマラ町の部分を走りました。１５０年前にこの地方にゴールドラッシュがあって、その時代について色んなことを学べることができるライドです。私にとって非常に面白かったです。もちろんニュージーランドの素晴らしい自然も楽しみました。あ～！懐かしい！
The next day I explored around my sister's house by mountain bike. 3 years ago, I rode part of the West Coast Wilderness Trail. You can find that story at this link. It was amazing. Definitely check it out. The total length of the West Coast Wilderness Trail is apparently139 km. It takes up to 4 days to ride the full length. This time I rode the Kumara section. This region had a gold rush 150 years ago, so you can learn about that era on this ride. It was really interesting for me. Of course, I also enjoyed the fantastic nature of New Zealand. Ahhhh! It's good to be home!

次の朝に妹と一緒に​アーサーズ・パースという峠を超えて、妹の家に行きました。去年に妹が引っ越ししたので、この家は初めてでした。アーサーズ・パースは素晴らしいドライブ・コースです。機会があれば、是非見に行ってください。
The next morning, I went over the Arthur's Pass together with my sister to her place. Last year she moved house, so it was the first time there for me. Arthur's Pass is a great place to go for a drive. I definitely recommend it if you get a chance.

朝のＭＴＢライドが楽しかったです。午後に妹が私の誕生日のために遊びに来ました。まずはクライストチャーチ・ゴンドラに乗りました。 My morning MTB ride was really enjoyable. In the afternoon, my sister came over for my birthday. First we went on the Christchurch gondola.

合計約13時間​飛行機に乗って、できるだけ早くあしを伸ばしたかったです。ということで、二日目の朝にMTBに乗るためにボトル・レイク・フォレスト・パークに行きました。3年前にマクリーン・アイランドMTBトレールに行きましたが、今回行ったボトル・レイク・フォレスト・パークがもっと大きくて、もっと面白いです。ニュージーランドがいいね、クライストチャーチ市がいいね、こういう無料ＭＴＢトレイルがたくさんあります。
I'd been sitting on a plane for a total of 13 hours and wanted to stretch my legs as soon as possible. Therefore, in the morning of the second day I went mountain biking at Bottle Lake Forest Park. 3 years ago I went to McLean Island MTB Trail, but Bottle Lake Forest Park is a little bigger and even more interesting.  New Zealand's awesome! Christchurch is awesome! They have lots of free mountain bike trails.

明けましておめでとうございます。本年もよろしくお願い致します。

年末に3年ぶりに私の母国であるニュージーランドに帰りました。アウトドア・ライフが好きだったら、ニュージーランドが最高です。私の趣味はマウンテンバイクで、ニュージーランドはＭＴＢトレイルが非常に多くある国です。ＭＴＢが車の後ろに付けてあるのをよく見ます。私は今回もできるだけニュージーランドのアウトドア・ライフを楽しみました。ちょっとずっつ私の旅を当ブログで紹介します。
At Christmas, I returned home to my mother country, New Zealand, for the first time in 3 years. If you like the outdoor life, then New Zealand (NZ) is unbeatable. My hobby is mountain biking and NZ has an enormous amount of mountain bike trails, so it is common to see vehicles with MTBs on the back of them. I enjoyed the outdoors as much as possible this trip too. I'll tell you about my trip little by little on this blog.
