今冬の初スノーMTBライド This Winter's 1st Snow Ride

1月1日から休みなしで、ずっと仕事をしましたが、今週末からMTBに乗れそうです。しかし、この前の週に大雪が降りました。山の雪が深いでしょう。しかし、乗りたいです。少しでもいいから山に迎えます。
 I haven't had a day off work since January 1st, but it looks like I'll be able to hit the mountains again from this weekend on. However, we had a lot of snow over the last week. But I want to ride. Even a little will be fine, so I head off towards the mountains.

最近、雪が多いです。日曜日までにちょっとでもとけてくれ！ Recently, we've had lots of snow. Hope it melts by Sunday, even just a little.

山の雪が深いでしょう I'd say the snow is pretty deep in the mountains.

上宮津に向かいます。雪が硬くて走りにくいです。

Heading towards Kami-Miyazu. The snow is hard and difficult to ride on.

まずは、杉山林道を走ってみます。高速道路の手前まで乗れたがここから押します。First I will try Sugiyama Forest Road. I manage to ride up to just before the highway, but from here I push.

最初のチェーンまでに上ってきました。雪が深くて、ここから無理です。 I reached the first chain. The snow is deep and there is no point going further.

この石を初めて気が付きました。 I noticed this rock for the first time.

何が書いてあるかな。

タイヤが綺麗になりました。 My tire is nice and clean now.

次は今福の滝まで行ってみます

Next I'll head up to Imabuku Waterfall

この桜の木がでかいですね。素敵！！！ This cherry tree is huge. Magnificent！！！

轍を走って上っていきます I ride up the wheel ruts

ここから車がまだ通っていません。登山口まで押します。 No vehicles have traveled up from here. So I'll push my MTB up to the track entrance.

振り返る図 Looking back

久しぶりにウィーリーで上っていきます。 I continue on up wheelie style. It's been a while since I did this.

雪の竹が綺麗です Bamboo looks nice in the snow.

竹の中に猪の罠があります。確かに、猪が筍が好きです。 エサが雪の上にあるので、最近に誰かがいれました。There is a boar trap in the bamboo. Boars certainly like bamboo shoots. There is bait on the snow, so someone recently put it there.

ヤマモモ　Japanese Bayberry

The fruit of this tree ripens around June and turns from crimson to dark red. It has a sweet-sour taste.

これはいいアイデアですよね。バンジー・コードが使われています。 This is a good idea. Bungee cords are being used.

セルフィーを撮りました。この季節に私しかここに来ない気がします。私の意外、人間の足跡がありません。獣の足跡ばかりです。 I took a selfie. I get the feeling that I'm the only one who comes here at this time of year. Apart from mine, there are no human foot prints. Only wild beasts’.

まずは、水を吹き飛ばしました。次にカメラが下を向かないように枝を入れました。 Firstly, I blew the water out. Then I put sticks in so the camera wouldn't face downwards.

さあ！楽しみにしていた下りです。Right！The fun part. Going down.

金引の滝 Kanabiki Waterfall

去年大雪の後で来たときにこの道が綺麗でした。今年は全然違います。正月ではないからでしょうかね。 Last year when I came here after heavy snow, this road was clean. It's a different story this year. I guess because it's not the New Year holiday period.

上っていきます。ちょっと滑りやすいです。 I head on up. It's a little slippery.

サイド・ショット SIde Shot

宮津市には素敵な滝が2つあります。「今福の滝と金きの滝」。近いし、すぐ行けます。宮津市にお越しになったら、是非見に行ってください。車の駐車場があります。どれでもの季節に素晴らしい滝を楽しめることができます。 In Miyazu we have these 2 magnificent waterfalls. [Imabuku Waterfall & Kanabiki Waterfall]. Those are in close proximity. If you visit Miyazu, definitely go and see them. There are car parks there. It doesn't matter what the season is, you'll enjoy them for sure.

今度の土曜日がよさそうですね。その日までに雪が大分解けるでしょう。山に入って、スノーライドを楽しみです。 This Saturday looks good. The snow should have melted quite a bit by then. I'm looking forward to hitting the mountains and riding the snow.
