由良ヶ岳　Mt. Yura-ga-take

今日は素晴らしい天気でした。由良ヶ岳に登るチャンスでした。多くの鳥が鳴いている山です。それと山頂からの絶景は素晴らしいです。
The weather was really nice today. A good chance to go up Mt. Yuragatake. It has a lot of bird life with a lot of bird song. And of course, the view from the top is spectacular.

ここから山頂に登り始めます。 A start climbing up the mountain from this shrine.

花が咲いています。 Flowers are blooming

蝶蝶が飛んでいます。 Butterflies are fluttering around.

蛇が獲物を探しています。 Snakes are hunting.

ヤマカガシで、毒蛇です。 It's a tiger keelback and is venomous.

林道から離れて、遊歩道に入ります。 I leave the mountain road and enter the walk way.

まずは、西峰に行きます。栗田半島と丹後半島が見えます。 First I go to the west peak. You can see Kunda Peninsula and Tango Peninsula.

天橋立も見えて、丹後半島の向こう側に日本海も見えます。 You can see Amanohashidate and beyond Tango Peninsula you can see The Japan Sea.

綺麗な色です。サツキの花かな！？ This was a really nice color. I think it might be an azalea rhododendron.

由良川河口と大浦半島 Yura River mouth and Oura Peninsula

舞鶴市。左には東舞鶴で、右には西舞鶴です。 Maizuru City. On the left is East Maizuru and on the right is West Maizuru. It's the main naval base for the Japan Sea side of Japan.

マウントドゥームのように見える青葉山（標高693m）です。 It looks like Mount Doom. But it's Mt. Aoba (height 693 m)

先週のアドベンドハーのルートです。あの不思議な竹森から山を越えたルートです。あの辺に竹が多いですよね。 Last week's adventure's route. The route we took from that mystical bamboo forest up over the mountain. There is a lot of bamboo in that are, isn't there.

鉄橋と田圃。今日は波がいつもより大きいです。 The railway bridge and rice fields. The waves are bigger than usual today.

電車が鉄橋を渡っています。 A train is crossing the railway bridge.

久しぶりにシーチキン、トマト、チーズ、レタスのサンドを作りました。 I made tuna, tomato, cheese and lettuce sandwiches for the first time in ages.

今回の謎。この鳥は何という鳥でしょうか。ヒントは......春に鳴き声がよく聞こえますが、この鳥はなかなか見えません。私は初めて見て、写真が撮れました。 Today's puzzle. What is this bird called. Hint: You often can hear it in spring but rarely is it seen. It is the first time that I have seen it and been able to take a photo.

すごい！これは普通のパンクではありません。パンクという外来語は英語の「puncture」から来ました。しかし、私は「blow out」を言いたいです。それは日本語でどう言うでしょうか。林道を下る途中に「BANG」.....こんなことは初めて体験しました。 I had a blow out on the way down the mountain. My tire went off with a bang. Look at the size of the tear. First time I've had this happen to me.

ということで、由良ヶ岳に登って、色んなものを見て、色んな人に会って、楽しいライドでした。
To wrap things up, I climbed Mt. Yura-ga-take, saw all sorts of things, met various people, and had a fantastic time.
