今回、ウェスト・コースト・ワルダネス・トレイル の最南端の部分を走ります。それは「ホキティカ町からロス町へ」です。妹と義理の弟と一緒に走ります。これは最後の走りたかった部分です。

 準備ができました。 Loaded and ready to go. |  ホキティカ川。実際はこの川を渡るのがスタートポイントですが、私達はこの部分を抜けて、マナヌイからスタートしました。Hokitika River. Crossing this river is actually the start point for this section, but we cut out this section and started at Mananui. |
 まずは、マナヌイ鉄道の廃線跡を走ります。 First we ride along the old Mananui Tramline. |  最初は牧場を通ります。You go though farmland to start with. |
 マヒナプア川を渡ります。Crossing Mahinapua Creek. |  いい雰囲気ですね。亜麻が多いです。 It's very nice looking out across there with all the flax. |
 マナヌイ木工場の跡。 The site of the old Mananui Sawmill. |  情報板 Imformation board |
 マナヌイ木工場が1903年から1957まで運営されました。 |  1967年までにマナヌイの町がなくなりました。 |
 この部分が面白いです。亜麻だらけの沼を通ります。 |  It's really interesting through this part. You travel through a swamp covered in flax. |
 面白かった！ I enjoyed that! |  次は天然林を通ります。 Next you ride through native forest. |
 坂がありますが、走りやすいです。 There is an uphill slope, but it is really easy to ride up. |  楽しんでいます。 Enjoying the ride. |
 1923年から1933年まで林業研究のためにこの辺に外国からの木が植えられました。 |  林業研究から残っているユーカリの木でしょう。 I guess these are eucalyptus trees left over from the forestry experiment. |
この部分は気持ちがいいです。 It's really nice through this part.

 晴れている時に南アルプスとクック山（ＮＺの一番高い山）が見えます。 On a clear day you can see the Southern Alps and Mt. Cook (NZs highest mountain) |  この部分では橋を渡るのが一番面白いです。 Crossing the bridges is the most interesting part of this section. |
 これも橋からの眺めです。 This is also a view from a bridge. |  パパカマイ・ガンガー・シェッド（労働班長の小屋） Papakamai ganger shed. |
 長い直線の部分が多いです。It's made up of lots of really long straight sections. |  こういうところが好きです。 I like these parts. |

これで、ウェスト・コースト・ワルダネス・トレイル の走りたかった部分を全部走りました。満足です。今日のライドですが、マヒナプア遊歩道が特に素晴らしかったです。短距離ライドをしたいと思ったら、あそこの往復がいいでしょう。
With that, I have now rode all the sections of the West Coast Wilderness Trail that I wanted to. I'm pretty content with that. The Mahinapua Walkway from today's ride was a really nice ride. If you just want to do a short ride, then a return trip on that section would be really nice.
