いいトレイルを発見「高原線」

金剛童子山の高原登山道 Mt. Kongojido, Takahara Track

昨日、金剛童子の高原線入口まで林道を探検しました。今日は頂上からその高原線を下って探検しました。さあ！どんなトレイルだったでしょうか。下記を見てください
Yesterday I explored a forest road up to the Takahara Track entrance for Mt. Kongodoji. Today I explored that Takahara Track from the top of the mountain down. So! What kind of trail did it turn out to be. Please read below to find out.

アオゲラ　Japanese Green Woodpecker

運がいい！！！鹿の鳴き声を聞いて、止まって、静かにしました。そうするとこの大きな鳥を見て、写真を撮りました。今調べて、アオゲラです。初めてキツツキ類を見ました。 That was Lucky！！！ I heard a deer call out, stopped and didn't make a sound. Then I saw this big bird land in a tree and took a photo. I just looked it up now and it is a 'Japanese Green Woodpecker'. This is the first time I've seen a woodpecker in my life.

いつも通る時、このコンクリート歩道がどこに行くかな～と思っています。ここは吉津廃村のすぐ近くですが、その以上に何もない所です。山深くにあります。１００メートルか２００メートル長いと書いてあります。いつか探検しようかな！

Whenever I pass here I always wonder where this concrete path goes. This place is right beside where Yoshizu Village used to be, but apart from that, there is nothing here. It's deep in the mountains. The sign says it is 100 or 200 meters long. I guess I'll have to explore it one day.

路面にあった「タケカレハの幼虫」です。大きくて短刺毛を持っています。 This caterpillar I found on the road is called a 'takegareha'. It's quite big and has short hairs that prick you.

林道入口に上記の標識があって、そして７００メートルを走ると下記の標識がありました。 The sign above is at the forest road entrance and after about 700 meters I came across the signs below. It says that in about 50 meters in that  direction there are the ruins of a Shingon Temple.

今回林道の最後まで行って、標識に書いてある道を通ります。

This time I go to the end of the forest road and follow path indicated by the signs

今回、金剛童子山の南西にある展望地まで上ります。 Today I climb as far as the look out on the southwest side of Mt. Kongodoji.

ズームアップすれば、田圃が見えます Upon zooming up, you can see the rice fields

夜にあの家がカエルの鳴き声でめちゃ喧しいでしょう That house will be really noisy at night with all the frogs croaking

さあ！DHタイム。どんなトレイルかな～！

Right！Downhill time. Wonder what kind of trail it is.

ウワ～！これは急坂です。サドルを下ろさないと．．．！ Gees！ This is steep. I have to lower my seat.

アワフキムシの 若虫がこの泡の中にいるかな。棘がある植物です。棘に刺された時、下をみて、この白い泡を見ました。 I guess the nymphs of an insect called a froghopper are inside this foam. This plant has thorns. I looked down when they pricked me and saw this white foam.

自転車を片手で持って、ロープも片手で持って、なんとなく下りました。約４メートルです。２人なら問題なしで進めます。Holding my bike in one hand and the rope in the other, I some how make it down this slope. It's about 4 meters. It would be no problem with 2 people.

無事に下まで．．． I made it safely down

もしかしてこの登山道がだめです。しかし、そういうことを考えたら、結構いいトレイルになりました。頂上のちかくの最初の部分だけが急でした。イヤホー！！！ Just when I was thinking this trail was no good, it turned out to be quite a good trail. Just the first part near the summit was quite steep. Yeehaa！！！

楽しい！！！ Fun！！！

トレイルの上の枯葉。最高！！！ Dead leaves on the trail. Awesome！！！

この標識のところで道が見えなくなりました。昔はここが集落だったと思います。下りの矢印を無視した方がいいです。 At this sign I lost track of the path. I think there used to be a hamlet here. You should ignore the direction of the down slope facing arrow.

標識から下右にこのロープがありました。その方向に行くと．．． Just downhill on the right from the sign you can see this rope. If you go in this direction ．．．

．．．この石灯籠が見えます。ここから道がわかりやすいです。 ．．． you will see these stone lanterns. The path is easy to find from here.

Beginning of Meiji (1868 - 1912): 15 houses,　1963: 9 houses, 1967: abandonned

何これ！？すごい所にあります。 What's this!? The last thing I expected to see here.

ということで、この登山道もいいです。この山に楽しいシングルトラックが２つあります。味土野線と高原線を一発でMTB仲間と一緒に走りたいです。皆さんが喜ぶと思います。行きましょう！！！走りましょう！！！
To sum things up, I'm pretty happy with this trail. There are 2 good single tracks on this mountain. I want to ride the Midono & Takahara tracks with my MTB buddies in one shot. I'm sure everyone will enjoy them. Let's go！！！

宮津駅前にある「どんどんや」に行って「和風サラダうどん」を食べました。美味しかった！！！ I went to Dondonya in front of Miyazu station and had 'wafu salad udon'. Was really good！
