今回、久しぶりに杉山林道をすべて走りました。気持ちのいい日でした。天気もよかったです。やっぱり杉山林道が素晴らしいところです。今日はオスの鹿を二頭、キツネ、瓜坊、ウサギ、など見ました。本当に面白くて、楽しいライドでした。
Today I rode the whole of Sugiyama Forest Road. It was really nice weather. This road really is a great place. Along the way I saw 2 stags, a fox, a baby wild boar, a rabbit, amongst other things. It really was a fun and interesting ride.

ずっと前からクマ撃退スプレーがほしいなぁ～と思っています。しかし、値段が高い～。でも.....ほしい～。クマに出会う可能性が低いと思っていますが、出会ったら、命を救うものがほしいです。これはバックパックに入れると持つ意味がありません。間に合わないから役に立っていません。だから、専用のホルスターも必要です。合計で￥12,000以上かかりそうです。しかし、命を救ってくれれば、安いと思います。9月頃に下記の広告を見ました。びっくりしました。地元の店が売っています。アメリカの製品なので、英語でカウンターアソールトについていろいろを調べました。良さそうな商品です。買いに行くことにしました。店に行って、一本しか残っていませんでした。商品使用期限が見えなかったので店員に尋ねました。商品を開けてもらって、スプレー缶の底に「EXP 2014 / 07」が書いてありました。エッ！「EXP」は英語で「expiration date」という意味です。日本語で「有効期限」という意味です。しかし、「 2014 / 07」は2014年7月ですね。それは2年前でした。勿論そのクマ撃退スプレーを買わなかったのは言うまでも無い​です。調べた時に新商品の有効期限は4年間だと読みました。勿論、その後使えますが、エアゾール缶のガスがちょっとずつ抜けるから飛ぶ距離がちょっとずつ減るでしょう。トウガラシの効果は減りません。まあ！持っていませんので、クマに出会ったら、私のでかさで逃げてくれればありがたいです。有効期限が3年以上の商品があったら、来年の春のために注文するかなぁ～。まだ考え中です。
ところで、今年、あのニュースの記事を見ましたか。あの空手の選手がクマの目に強烈なパンチをして、クマが逃げました。やっぱり目を狙ったほうがいいでしょう。

I've wanted bear spray for sometime now. However, it's really expensive. But I really want it. I think the chances of coming across a bear is quite low, but if I did, I'd want something that would save my life. There is no point in having it if you put it in your backpack. You wouldn't get it out in time, making it useless. So, you need the holster made for it as well. It looks like it would cost just over ￥12,000 in total for both. However, I think that is cheap if it saved my life. Around last September, I saw the ad below. I was quite surprised to see a shop near here selling it. I decided to go and buy it. When I got to the shop, I found that there was only one can left. I couldn't see the best by date, so I asked the shop assistant. He opened the bag it was in and I found 「EXP 2014 / 07」 printed on the bottom of the can.  Eh! 「EXP」 means 「expiration date」in English or 「yuukou-kigen」 in Japanese. But, 「2014 / 07」means July, 2014. That's 2 years ago. Of course it goes without saying that I didn't buy that bear spray. When I was researching it, I read that a new product has a 4 year expiration date. Of course, you can continue to use it after that, but since the gas of aerosol cans slowly leaks out, the spray power will most likely slowly decrease. The potency of the pepper won't decrease though. I still don't have bear spray, so I can only hope that if I come across a bear it will run away upon seeing how big I am. If I can get bear spray with an expiration date of over 3 years, then I might order one for next spring. I'm still tossing up whether to or not.
​By the way, did you see that news story this year? That black belt karate guy punched a bear in the eye with all his might and it ran away. As I would have thought, the eye seems to be a good place to aim for.

今日もAトレイルを走りました。先週にトレイルを綺麗にしたので、今回楽しめました。 I rode the 'A' Trail again today. Since I cleaned the trail last week, I was able to enjoy myself today.

最高の天気でした。久しぶりにAトレイルを走ってきました。気持ちがよかった！楽しかった！Aトレイルがいい！しかし、台風で落ちた枝が多かったので、今日はトレイルを綺麗にしました。
It was a beautiful day. I went and rode the 'A' Trail. It felt so good and enjoyable. It's a great trail. However, there were lots of fallen branches and twigs due to the typhoons. So today I cleaned the trail as I came across them.

金引の滝から滝上公園までのコースを走ってきました。先日の台風のせいで倒木と落枝などが多かった。また今週台風が来るそうです。秋を楽しめるためにまたトレイルの掃除が必要でしょう。
Today I rode the course from Kanabiki Waterfall to  Takigami Park. There were lots of fallen trees and branches due to the typhoon the other day. There is apparently another typhoon coming this week. I guess we'll have to clean the trails again so we can enjoy autumn.
