モンキアゲハとNZジャージ

連休だっても私は土、日しか休みません。今日と昨日、1時間ぐらいの短いライドをしました。昨日は杉山林道をちょっと上って、今日は天橋立と阿蘇海の辺りに行ってきました。杉山林道のライドはチョウチョウの観察ライドになってしまいました。
Even though it's a long weekend, I only have Saturday and Sunday off. I went for about an hour's ride both yesterday and today. Yesterday I went a little way up Sugiyama, and today I went over around Amanohashidate, Asokai Lagoon area. The Sugiyama ride became more of an observing butterflies outing.

阿蘇海。雨のせいで阿蘇海が汚れていたが、今日は気持ちがよかったです。 Asokai Lagoon. Today the water was murky due to the recent rain, but it was quite pleasant today.

私のジャージを褒めているでかいカラスがいました。 This huge crow was admiring my shirt.

モンキアゲハ　Red Helen Swallowtail Butterfly

杉山林道を上っている途中に、路面に何かの陰が見えました。私の真上を見て、でかいチョウチョウをたくさん見ました。木に花がたくさん咲いていて、チョウチョウがその花の蜜を吸っていました。チョウチョウがじっとしてくれなかったので、なかなかいい写真が撮れませんでした。翼幅は140mmくらいだそうです。
I saw the shadows of something on the road on my way up Sugiyama Forest Road. I looked above me to see quite a few large butterflies drinking nectar from the flowers in the tree above me. The butterflies wouldn't stay still, so I couldn't get a good shot of them. Apparently they have a wingspan of up to 140 mm.
