Helicopter, Ray, Mullet, Damselfly, Tiger Beetle
When I was crossing over Amanohashidate a fortnight ago, work was being done to help prevent the pine trees from dying. There are about 5,000 pine trees on Amanohashidate. In recent years, there has been some pine wilt damage and countermeasures to preserve the scenic view has been vital. In addition to using sprinklers from the ground, a radio controlled helicopter has also been used to spray insecticide on the pine trees. In order to exterminate the pine wood longhorn beetle which carries the pine wood nematode that causes pine wilt disease, spraying of insecticide is conducted to coincide with when the beetle emerges from its pupa stage.
Every time I ride my bike I have a happy encounter.
Let's get out of the house and discover things!
