地蔵峠コース Jizo Pass Course
金引の滝から滝上公園までのコースを走ってきました。先日の台風のせいで倒木と落枝などが多かった。また今週台風が来るそうです。秋を楽しめるためにまたトレイルの掃除が必要でしょう。
Today I rode the course from Kanabiki Waterfall to Takigami Park. There were lots of fallen trees and branches due to the typhoon the other day. There is apparently another typhoon coming this week. I guess we'll have to clean the trails again so we can enjoy autumn.

最近雨が多く降って、道沿いの川にいつもより水量が多かったです。 Recently we've had lots of rain, and as a result, the water level in the stream running along-side the road is higher than usual.
カマキリの卵 Praying Mantis Eggs
初めてカマキリの卵を見ました。最初は蜂の巣だと思いました。大きさは高さ５ｃｍと底の直径４ｃｍほどでした。卵の産み付ける位置が高かったら冬に大雪が降るといううわさを聞いたことがあります。下記の卵は雪が深く積もる地蔵峠の近くだったし、産み付けられた位置は地面より１メートルぐらいの高さでした。ということは、今年は大雪にならないでしょうか。(迷信だと思うけど)
This is the first time I have seen praying mantis eggs. At first, I thought it was a wasp nest. It was about 5 cm high and had about a 4 cm diameter across its base. I've heard an old wives' tale that if the eggs are laid quite high, there will be heavy snow in the coming winter. The eggs pictured below were at a height of about 1 meter and near Jizo Pass, which usually sees deep snow. So I guess it isn't going to snow much this coming winter then. (I think it's a superstition though.)

タラノキ Japanese Angelica Tree
 ちょうど一ヶ月前にタラノキの花が白かったです。 Exactly a month ago, the Japanese angelica flowers were a white color. |  今日は花がピンクっぽいでした。 Today the flowers were a pinkish color. |
実がたくさん見えます。 You can see a lot of fruit.
