磯砂山の東 East of Mt. Isanago
今回京丹後市の磯砂山（いさなご）の近くを探検しました。探検するのが面白いです。先に何があるかわからないし、道はどこに行くかわかりません。アドベンチャーです。

 チャレンジが二つあります。まず、この電線のゲートを開けること。 There are a couple of challenges. First I have to open this electric fence gate. |  次はこのゲートを開けること。こういうゲートを初めて挑戦しました。両方のゲートを簡単に解決しまた。 Next is to open this one. It's the first time I've tackled one of these. I manage to solve both gates no problem at all. |

三光鳥（サンコウチョウ） Japanese Paradise Flycatcher
何あれ！初めて見た鳥です。綺麗！ What's that! First time I've seen that bird. Beautiful!

鳴き声が「ツキ（月）ヒ（日）ホシ（星）ホイホイホイ」と聞こえるところから、三つの光、「三光鳥（サンコウチョウ）」と名づけられた
Its song is said to sound like 'tsuki-hi-hoshi, hoi-hoi-hoi' in Japanese, which translates as Moon-Sun-Stars and gives the Japanese name of the bird sankōchō (literally, bird of three lights, i.e. moon (tsuki), sun (hi), star (hoshi).

林道の突き当たりに朝食を食べて、そしてカエルを観察しました。蝶とアリなどを食べました。面白かったです。やっぱり、カエルはいい！虫を食べるからです。 I ate my lunch at the end of the road and observed a frog. It ate a butterfly and ants amongst other things. It was interesting to watch. I decided frogs are good to have around, because they eat insects.

今回の謎 Today's Puzzle
帰り途中、野田川丹海バス工場の近くにこの鳥を見ました。アオサギが大きい鳥です。しかし、左の鳥と比べて、アオサギが小さく見えます。左にいる鳥は何でしょうか！？ On the way back, I saw this bird near the Nodagawa Tankai Bus Terminal. Grey herons are big birds, but they look small compared to that bird on the left. What is that bird on the left!?
そうですよ。野田川町にコウノトリがいました。あと、一つの山を越えてくれば、私の家の前に見えるかもしれません。その日を楽しみにしています。 That's right! There was an Oriental stork in Nodagawa. If it crosses just one more mountain range, then I might be able to see them in front of my house. I look forward to that day.
