MTBに緊急事態発生

綾部市「水源の里」→養老山 Ayabe [Suigen-no-Sato]→Mt. Yoro

今回はARAさんがプロデュースしたMTBライドに参加します。久しぶりですね．．．ARAさん。天気が最高です！！！楽しみにしております。
This time I'm taking part in a MTB ride organized by ARA. It's been a while since I rode with ARA. It's a gorgeous spring day. I'm looking forward to it.

目的地は綾部市の市志（いちし）です。めがねカッパさん(MK)が運転してくださっているので私は春の景色をゆっくり楽しめる。

Today's destination is Ichishi, Ayabe. Megane Kappa (MK) is driving, so I can enjoy the spring scenery at leisure.

この辺の村民が路肩を綺麗にしています。水仙と桜の花の対照が素敵です。 The local villagers keep the road shoulder looking nice. The contrast between the cherry blossoms and daffodils is quite picturesque.

ちょっと早く着いたので近くの川でパチリ！ We arrived early, so I took some shots at the nearby river.

駐車場を出た所 Just left the car park.

すぐ林道に入りました。Entered the forest road in no time.

皆がわくわくしています。 Everyone is excited

あっという間に押しゾーンになります。

We reach the 'push' zone before we know it.

きついな！あかん！ふくらはぎが疲れています。しかし、楽しい！

It's steep. My calves are burning. But it's happy times.

舞鶴湾が見えてきました。素晴らしい眺めです。 Maizuru bay has come into view. Great view!

やっと楽しくスピードを出すと．．．オー・マイ・ゴッド！！！（泣） Just when I could enjoy some speed .... crunch!!! OMG!!!

ディレイラーハンガー Derailleur hanger

枝が詰まって、リア・ディレイラーがひん曲がってしまいました。直そうとしたときには、ディレイラーハンガーがポッキリと折ってしまいました。ディレイラーとハンガーが完全にだめになりました。皆の力でなんとなく乗れるように応急処置をしました。特にARAさんとTANKU さんが修理をしてくださいました。もうギアが一つしかない状態になったので上りが無理です。しかし、皆のおかげで下りを楽しめることができます。それは嬉しいことです。
A branch got caught in my rear derailleur and bent it  up backwards 90°. When we tried to fix it, the derailleur hanger snapped off. Both the derailleur and hanger are now completely unusable. With everybody's help we do some emergency repairs. ARA and TANKU were the main engineers. Now that I only have one gear, riding up hill is out of the question. However , thanks to all the guys, I can still enjoy the downhill. That makes me happy.

↑山おにぎりデビュー。汗をかけると梅干しがいいね。 This is called 'onigiri' (rice balls). It's rice wrapped in nori seaweed with something in the middle. This one has a pickled plum in the middle. It's a common food in Japan, is easy to carry, and easy to eat. Pickled plum is good to replenish those minerals you lose through sweat.

ゆっくり話している間、綾部のテリチキバーガーを楽しんでいます。 Enjoying an Ayabe teriyaki chicken burger while taking it easy and chatting.
