富士芝桜まつり　Fuji Moss Phlox Festival

本栖湖から３ｋｍ走って、富士芝桜まつり会場があります。私の母のフェイスブックに見たことがあります。（日本のプロモーションの広告でした。）５月は一番いいだそうです。だからまだ咲いていないところも沢山ありました。そうであっても、すごく綺麗でした。　http://www.shibazakura.jp/
The Fuji Moss Phlox park was 3 km from Lake Motosuko. I had seen it on my mother's Facebook page before (as a promotional ad for Japan). May is supposedly the best time to go. Therefore many plants still hadn't bloomed yet. Even so, it was beautiful. http://www.shibazakura.jp/

石塁　Stone Wall Fence

精進湖と本栖湖の間にこの標識を見ました。何のことかなと思って、帰り途中見に行きました。Between Lake Shojiko and Lake Motosuko I saw this sign. I wondered what it was, so on the way back I went to have a look.

青木ヶ原樹海に入りたくないと言ましたが、やっぱりちょっと入ってみます。怖い！ I said that I didn't want to enter Aokigahara Jukai Forest, but here we go. It's a scary place.

しかし、これは何でしょう？何でここにこのものがあるでしょうか。帰ってから調べて、この説明を見つけました。「武田信玄の時代に敵の攻撃に備える為青木ケ原樹海内に溶岩で築いた防壁。石塁は高さ２ｍ位で約２キロほど続いている」
But, what is it? Why is it here? I looked it up when I got home. This is what I found.　「It is a defensive wall built from volcanic rock in the Aokigahara Jukai Forest during the Takeda Shingen era (1521 - 1573) in preparation for attacks by the enemy. It was 2 meters high and about 2 km long.」

今日のコースが長くて、私は疲れています。しかし、MTBに乗っているからオフロードも走りたいです。だからここを走ってみました。 Today's course is long and I'm tired. But since I'm riding a MTB, I'd like to ride off-road too. So, I rode along here. (yellow path)

Because the roots of the trees in the Aokigahara Jukai Forest only go down about 50 cm and then spread out sideways over the volcanic rock, the trees aren't very strong against force from the side.

河口湖の大石。車に戻りました。お疲れ様のブルーベリー・アイスクリームを食べました。Ooishi, Lake kawaguchiko. Back at my car enjoying a well deserved blueberry ice-cream.

ムースヒルズバーガー Moose Hills Burger

ほとんどのレストランが富士五湖名物のほうとうのレストランです。昨晩に食べましたから今夜、何か違うものを食べたいと思います。グーグルで探して、このムースヒルスバーガーを見つけました。ちょうどいい！評判もよさそうです。
Most of the restaurants are the local Fuji Five Lakes speciality, houtou restaurants. I ate that last night and feel like something different tonight. So I did a search on Google and found this Moose Hills Burger restaurant. Just what I feel like! The reputation looks pretty good too.

せっかく来たのでデラックスバーガーにしました。でかい！どうやって食べる！美味しい！ジューシー！最高！今まで、これは日本で一番美味しい食べたバーガーです。満足！ SInce I'd come all this way, I chose the 'Delux Burger'. It's huge! How am I supposed to eat this!? Man, that tasted good & was so juicy! That's the best burger I've had in Japan. I'm completely satisfied.
