19. デビル・パンチボール・フォールズ Devils Punchbowl Falls
アーサーズ・パースの東側にアーサーズ・パース(標高740m)という集落があります。ここから20分ほど歩くとデビル・パンチボール・フォールズという素晴らしい滝があります。道路からも見事に見えます。
On the eastern side of Arthur's Pass is a village with the same name, Arthur's Pass(740m above sea-level). If you walk for about 20 minutes from here, there is an impressive waterfall called Devil's Punchbowl.

このトラックの地下(およそ70メートル)に鉄道のトンネルがあります。1908年と1918年の間に作られました。1923年にトンネルが開きました。長さが8.5㎞で、完成された時には世界一長いトンネルの一つでした。
現在にこのトンネルを通るのはこの電車です。 This train currently passes through this tunnel.

トラックの終点に展望台があります。素晴らしい！！！見事！！！ At the end of the track is a viewing platform. Spectacular！！！ Impressive！！！
デビルズ・パンチボール・フォールズの高さが131メートルです。 Devils Punchbowl Falls is 131 meters high.
 マオリ語でこの滝が「テ・タウテア・オ・ヒネカカイ」と呼ばれています。 These falls are called 'Te Tautea o Hinekakai' in Maori |  マオリ人の伝説。滝などの自然の特徴には先祖にちなんで名前が付けられました。 |
